Citizens, journalists, whistleblowers, and activists often hesitate to report corruption, human rights abuses, or municipal failures due to fear of retaliation, identity tracking, and digital censorship. Mainstream social media platforms prioritize engagement over civic accountability; posts disappear, evidence becomes fragmented, and critical public disclosures are algorithmically suppressed or removed. At the same time, public officials make commitments during crises without any structured, public mechanism for citizens to audit whether those pledges are kept or broken. Citizens lack accessible information on constitutional rights and legal protections, while civic participation remains scattered across ephemeral feeds instead of being organized into searchable, verifiable public knowledge. This opacity leaves vulnerable communities without recourse, weakens democratic institutions, and silences victims when public accountability matters most. There is an urgent need for an open-source, community-driven civic infrastructure where evidence is archived, official performance is audited transparently, and whistleblowers can disclose public-interest information with 100% cryptographic anonymity.

We built Verisphere, an open-source, full-stack civic accountability platform designed to strengthen transparency, protect whistleblowers, and empower citizen participation. How It Works: Zero-PII Anonymous Whistleblowing: Submitters can leak sensitive corruption disclosures without storing IP addresses, user IDs, or browser metadata. The platform generates a unique, deterministic Secret Tracking Code (e.g. VS-789012), allowing whistleblowers to privately track investigation progress without exposing their identity. Public Official Performance & Promise Scorecards: Verisphere maintains structured profiles for elected officials and government institutions. Citizens can track campaign pledges (Kept, Broken, Pending), inspect reported controversies with source references, and view direct complaints linked to verified civic reports. Civic Reporting & Interactive Evidence Archive: Users file reports on corruption, environmental damage, or infrastructure failures with category filters, timelines, and geo-locations. Uploaded documents and photos are preserved in Supabase Cloud Storage, featuring an embedded PDF document reader and image viewer for instant inspection. Community Forum & Public Opinions with Live Markdown: Community Forum: Threaded discussions for legal Q&A, community organizing, and real-time Socket.io updates without page refreshes. Public Opinions: A citizen journalism space for publishing long-form op-eds, policy debriefs, and investigative analyses. Both feature an interactive Write / Preview Markdown editor for formatting citations cleanly. Civic Knowledge Hub & Transparency Dashboard: Provides simple-language educational guides on constitutional rights, RTI procedures, and PIL filings. An interactive dashboard computes resolution rates, category distributions, and promise fulfillment statistics directly from database records.
